Case Study: In-Roof Solar PV System Delivers 70% Energy Savings
At Beaden Renewables, many of our new customers come to us through personal recommendations – and this project was no exception. Our client, a homeowner passionate about sustainability and eager to lower their household energy costs, was referred to us by another satisfied customer.
During our initial site survey, we discovered that the existing roof structure was not suitable for a traditional solar panel installation. Rather than walking away from the project, we worked closely with the client to find the best solution. We recommended a trusted local roofing contractor we have collaborated with on several previous installations. Together, we developed a plan to carry out a re-roof and prepare it for a fully integrated, in-roof solar PV system
Because there was a shading issue affecting part of the roof, we decided to install a fully optimised SolarEdge system. This ensures each panel performs at its maximum capacity, even when other panels are partially shaded – providing the best possible energy generation throughout the day.
The client embraced this approach, recognising it as an opportunity to future-proof their home and achieve a cleaner aesthetic. Once the roof work was complete, our installation team fitted an in-roof array comprising 14 x 335 W solar panels, perfectly integrated into the new roofline for a seamless finish. The system was paired with a 10 kWh battery, installed externally, allowing the client to store excess solar generation for use during the evening and at times of higher demand.
As with all Beaden Renewables projects, every stage – from survey and design through installation and commissioning – was handled with care, professionalism, and clear communication. Once the system was operational, we provided a full handover, including all MCS certification, DNO approval, warranty documents, and user guidance, ensuring our client felt confident managing their new system.
The results have been outstanding. The combination of solar generation and battery storage has reduced the homeowner’s monthly electricity bills by almost 70%, while significantly lowering their carbon footprint. They now have peace of mind knowing their home runs on clean, renewable energy and that they’re protected from future energy price rises.
This installation not only reflects our technical expertise, but also the importance we place on collaboration, customer service, and long-term value. By working with trusted partners and tailoring our solutions to each property, Beaden Renewables continues to help homeowners across the North West embrace sustainable energy – efficiently, safely, and beautifully.
